Homabay Governor, Cyprian Awiti was admitted to the hospital after falling ill at a function in Homa Bay in June. He was taken to the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu on June 27 from where he was referred to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi on June 29. He was on Monday discharged from the hospital after seeking medication for the three weeks.

It’s believed that he has been battling with partial blindness and diabetes, and is said to have undergone eye surgery in German.

During his time away seeking treatment, Awiti would temporarily delegate his duties to his deputy Hamilton Orata to manage the county.
