Nairobi County is set to introduce a Bill that will impose levy on poultry and livestock from upcountry entering the capital city.

Poultry will be charged at sh 25 per bird, a dog or a cat to cost sh 1000 per animal.

In June, Nairobi Finance and Economic Planning Executive Charles Kerich announced new taxes and levies that, if approved by the County Assembly, will see Nairobi residents dig deeper into their pockets for the county’s Sh35.2 billion annual budget.

The bill is set to introduce; increased parking fees, new charges for garbage collection, fire certificates and inspection for cats and dogs.
