Kiambu County Governor, Ferdinand Waititu, decided to set up offices in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD), in violation of court orders that placed his deputy, James Nyoro in charge of Kiambu.
It’s believed that Nyoro has been seeking the support of ward representatives to run the county.
The Nation reported that Governor Waititu shifted camp to the tenth floor of his Koinange Street office, at a building he recently bought from Jamii Bora Bank. Reports have it that Waititu has been holding several meetings with executives who are loyal to him.
The move by Waititu has brought about county executives’ loyalties split between him and his deputy, Nyoro as they are not sure of whom to report to. “Not much is happening in Kiambu. Power politics has stalled progress; we are also confused on who to report to,” one of the executives addressed.
