You can fly easily to and from Nairobi to Homa Bay. Silverstone Air this week deployed a 37 passenger plane that will  be on operation from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to Kabunde in Homa Bay.

According to the star Silverstone  Air is currently the third airline to operate on the route. Other airlines are; Fly 540 and Blue Sky Aviation. The airline’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) David Ojwang and the Sales and Marketing Manager Patrick Okech stated that the airline will offer daily morning flights.

The plane will depart Wilson airport at 7.30 am for Kabunde and make a return trip at at 8.35 am.

“We are also contemplating on introducing afternoon flights should demand for our services increase,” Ojwang said.

Fares are expected to start from Sh6,500 one way.

Homa Bay Deputy Governor Hamilton Orata explained that the airline will boost business in the entire South Nyanza region. He said the flight will save traders from spending long travel times between Nairobi and Homa Bay.

“The daily flight being launched today will be a good opportunity for our traders who move from Homa Bay to Nairobi and vice versa. Homa Bay has many tourist attraction sites like Ruma National Park, Lake Simbi Nyaima and others. This flight will encourage tourists to visit the sites,” Orata said.
