Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said over 600 people have been screened for Coronavirus.

The screening was done at airports and in areas like Ongata Rongai where the first patient lives. Screening is conducted on healthy individuals who do not display any symptoms but may have been exposed to the virus, while testing is for individuals displaying any symptoms directly related to the virus as the Center for Disease Control says.

The CS also announced that the Health Ministry, with the help of other stakeholders like Red Cross will begin random screening in selected areas for members of the public starting Saturday, 21 March.The disinfection of various premises in Nairobi has also begun.

He further urged Kenyans to maintain high standards of hygiene in order to break the chain of transmission.
