Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has announced the first coronavirus death case in Kenya.
The 66-year-old Kenyan man who arrived in the country from South Africa via Swaziland was admitted at Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi and had been suffering from diabetes too.
This comes as the nation announces three new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of cases to 31. All the new cases are Kenyan women aged between 30 and 61 years.
It was noted that the three patients are from Kilifi County, while others are from Nairobi County and they are close contacts of the patients who previously tested positive. The new patients are currently in quarantine.
