A massive fire mysteriously broke out in Southwest Florida International Airport, spanning 14 acres of land.
It was originally thought that the fire destroyed 20 rental vehicles parked in the area but it turned out that over 3500 vehicles were engulfed by the fire before it was extinguished.
No one was injured and the airport was undamaged during the 18-hour blaze. According to witnesses, there were several explosions and sparks of fire fell from above.
Firefighters were assisted in fighting the fire by helicopters dropping 80 airdrops.
The Florida Forestry Service of Caloosahatchee and 10 other departments helped to contain the fire, whose origin is still unknown, and investigation by the State Marshal is ongoing.
