A middle-aged man drowns in a fish pond in Makueni while running away from police officers who were after him because he was not wearing a face mask.

This comes just weeks after the government issued a warning that anyone caught in public without a face mask will be arrested.

Kenya has so far confirmed 281 coronavirus cases with fear of the cases rising if people don’t follow the measures put up by the government like social distancing, observing the 7 pm to 5 am curfew, and using hand sanitizers to stop the spread of coronavirus.

As noted by others, instructing only the sick to wear masks is essentially asking people to put a sign on themselves inviting fear and hostility, whereas if everyone wears a mask outside, the sick are likely to do so, hence protecting the people around them.
