Peter Kiilu’s death
Peter Kiilu’s untimely death has left friends, family and relatives in excruciating pain. President Uhuru Kenyatta has condoled the family of former Makueni MP Peter Kiilu who passed away at a Nairobi hospital.
The President eulogised the former MP as a friendly and seasoned public administrator who served the nation with distinction.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of comfort to the family of Hon. Kiilu who passed away at a Nairobi hospital today. The President eulogised the former Makueni MP as a friendly and seasoned public administrator who served the Nation with distinction,” read the statement from State House.

It is still unclear what led to the demise of the former Member of parliament.
Peter Kiilu got into the political field in 2007,when he clinched Makueni MP seat through an ODM ticket. He however lost the seat to Daniel Maanzo in 2013 when he vied on NARC ticket, and later 2017.Before getting into politics, Peter Kiilu had served as a high ranking civil servant.

During his tenure as a lawmaker,Peter Kiilu served as a member of the Joint Committee on Parliamentary Broadcasting and Library (2008 – 2012) and as the vice-chair of the Administration and National Security Committee.
He is an alumni of University of Nairobi and Maseno high school. The seasoned law maker and civil servant will be missed greatly.

From mid 80s upto 2003,Kiilu worked as a Provincial Commissioner from 1991 to 2003 and a District Commissioner from 1984 to 1991.
