Moses Wetangula ousted
Moses Wetangula, Bungoma’s senator and Ford Kenya’s Party leader and flag bearer for a long time, has been today ousted from the position.
Ford Kenya Party’s National Executive Council has resolved to dismiss the party leader Moses Wetangula on ground of gross misconduct.
Wetangula has been replaced by Wafula Wamunyinyi as the interim party leader.
Ford Kenya’s Secretary General, Eseli Simuyi while addressing the press after the delegates meeting said, the party had lost its ideals under Wetangula’s leadership.

Moses Wetangula’s removal as the party leader was witnessed by Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wamangati who said the decision was informed by the need to better position the party in Kenya’s politics.
The move is also part of a realignment with Ford Kenya setting its sights on the 2022 political showdown.

Earlier in the day, a group of youth allied to senator Moses Wetangula had stormed the NEC’s meeting claiming the party was being hijacked by ‘selfish individuals’ with ulterior motives. They were however dismissed.

There are some claims that the decision was made as a result of Raila’s handshake with Uhuru. And that they are aiming at clearing anyone who may be an obstacle in future.
Ford Kenya is part of NASA coalition together with Wiper party, ANC and ODM which is headed by Raila Odinga.
