Police in Rongo Sub County have launched an investigation into the killing of a 47-year-old man last night who was a security guard at K-Bay resort in Winyo village, East Kamagambo location Rongo Sub County.
According to the family members led by Mr.Paulus Odhier Opiyo they said that their kin whose name has been established as Phillip Ndege was a security guard at the resort saying they only received a phone call from the public last night over his death and when they rushed to the scene they found the body was already taken to Migori.
They said that issues of insecurity have been witnessed in Rongo sub county showing fear of more deaths calling on the security personnel to come out and conduct thorough investigation and the perpetrators brought to book for justice to prevail.
On his part the wife of the deceased Mrs.Phoeby Akinyi said that her life is now threatened due to the abrupt death of her husband who was the breadwinner in the family calling on the security personnel to come out as fast as possible and identify the culprits for justice to prevail.
The manager of K-Bay resort Mr.Odhiambo Justus Ochola who spoke to Arise fm over the matter, he said that despite attempts to assist after the unknown assailants broke into the resort, but it was late however as business community they urged the security personnel to speed up the investigation and perpetrators brought to book to serve as an example to others who might be having a sinister motive in the area for peaceful coexistence.
Meanwhile Rongo sub county police commander Peter Okiring confirmed the incident saying the deceased passed on immediately they arrived at Migori referral hospital as the body has now been taken to rosewood hospital mortuary for autopsy even as investigation into the matter continues.
